Absentee owners — people who own a property but live elsewhere — are among the most responsive direct-mail and acquisition leads. Here's how to find and reach them.
What is an absentee owner?
An absentee owner's mailing address differs from the property's location — they don't live at the property. That often signals a rental, a second home, or an owner open to selling. Out-of-state owners are a stronger subset still.
Why they're valuable
Absentee owners respond to mail at higher rates for purchase offers and property services, because they manage the asset from a distance and are far easier to reach by mail than in person.
